Who we are
Our website address is: https://talesnap.co. TaleSnap is a small business dedicated to creating personalized books based on customer specifications. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit or interact with our website.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the information provided in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to assist with spam detection.
If you use a Gravatar service to leave a comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to verify your usage of their service. Upon approval of your comment, your profile picture will be publicly visible alongside your comment. If you prefer not to display a profile picture, please refrain from using Gravatar.
Media
If you upload images to our website, such as through an order form for a custom book, we recommend avoiding images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may download and extract location data from images, which could compromise your privacy.
Cookies
If you leave a comment or submit a form on our website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website details in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, so you do not need to re-enter your information on subsequent visits. They will remain active for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not share your personal data with third parties, except as necessary to fulfill your order or as required by law. For example, if we engage a third-party service for payment processing in the future, we may share relevant data to complete your transaction. In such cases, we will ensure that any third party complies with strict data protection standards. We will never sell or disclose your information for marketing purposes.
How long we retain your data
Comments and their associated metadata are retained indefinitely to facilitate the automatic recognition and approval of follow-up comments. For custom book orders, we retain your data—including your name, email, and book specifications—for a period of two years. This allows us to reference your order if needed, such as for follow-up requests. After two years, your data will be securely deleted.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Your data is primarily stored on our WordPress website, hosted by Bluehost, which operates servers in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed.
